Overview

Khar Turan National Park, also called the little Africa in Iran, is registered as the second biosphere reserve in the world by UNESCO. The area with a size of 1,400,000 hectares (14,000 km2) is located in the Semnan province, southeast of Shahrud. Turan National Park and Wildlife Refuge is home to the critically endangered Asiatic cheetah.

Itinerary

Day 1
Start from Tehran or Isfahan to a village known as the gate of Khar Touran national park. In this way, we will pass through Dashte Kavir and visit nice desert sceneries. O/N guesthouse. (L-D)
Day 2.
Safari in Touran national park. We will visit species such as wild sheep and goats, Indian Gazelle, Persian Onager (wild ass), and if we would be lucky, will meet Persian cheetah. O/N guesthouse (B-L-D)
Day 3.
Drive toward Reza Abad village and dunes and drive back to the guesthouse. O/N guesthouse (B-L-D)
Day 4.
Drive toward Damqan, visit Tarikhaneh ancient mosque and continue to Badabsurt mineral springs and then drive to Mahdishahr. O/N Hotel (B-L-D)
Day 5.
Visit a cave close to the hotel and drive toward Semnan, visit Arg Gate, and visit slat mine caves on the way of Tehran. Drive to Tehran. (B-L)
